A simple drill: have your friend take you down and as you are “going down” use the moment to take him with you. You need to resist in movement a bit so your friend will not feel the heading. Otherwise you can use your friends hits to propel your body in a forward direction. Suppose you are hit in the chest, use the energy to rotate your body toward the other person and make a little step too.
On another note, if you are tired you can relax by using the stored enrgy in your connective tissue and posture. An erect person can squat and get up using proper breath and rythem and have a bounce effect from the hips and knees and pretty much everything as you go so the muscle work though there is minimal. This can help you on a long day, climbing a flight of stairs or just bouncing your sister’s son all other the place (he loves this). And smile when appropriate, it relaxes the face and the body too.
