I’ve been doing a lot of rope climbing and it has been tensing me up becasue I went through it too fast, expecting to reach heaven in one step if you would. Here is a fun rope release you may like as I do. Take a rope length about from one outstreatched hand to another and loop it around your elbows and have one end in each hand. Now pull on the ends together as your elbows near touching each other at the back. Relax on the way in and on the way out. this is like a double lever and a way to learn to move effectively in several directions at once.

This can be done one hand at the time, as you hold you elbow and pul but the double effect is fun and a nice intro to working with rope to different tasks. I use a climbing strap. It’s super strong and smooth so there is no rope burn.
