The way you align your fist and forearm when you hit depends on what lines you choose to follow. When we approach a person walking we usually reference ourselves in space in the direction and distance between ourselves and object and the people. If you rely on a person to gauge your place in space than you are leaning and giving the other a chance to draw and lead you by moving his point of reference out of your perception. Back to the fist, Watch the lines from above the forearm and following to the fist and the line on the outside of the elbow leading to the side of the hand where the little finger is. Now have them both running straight and close your hand to form a fist. Make sure your form is supporting you and not the other way around.
