Learning to use your feet well by doing it wrong. There is a low abrasive shufle drunks and very tired people use and yet they do not fall. Try this: Start moving forward from the hips to the thigh to the shin and than roll the foot forward slowly rolling the foot still on the ground, heel lifting than the middle and than the toes curl and are lifted relaxed. Try this for a few steps and than some and than add lowering your hips and swaying. By finding balance through movement we use one of the basic systema principles and learn to relax while unbalanced which will help us regain our direction when needed. This is also rather good for the hips and you can teach yourself to bounce up the stairs using this.
