There are also things to be learned from stories and poems. A good spirit is vital to a good life and practice. Here is my favorite poem.

Richard Lovelace

47. To Lucasta
Going to the Warres

TELL me not (Sweet) I am unkinde,
  That from the Nunnerie
Of thy chaste breast, and quiet minde,
  To Warre and Armes I flie.

True; a new Mistresse now I chase,          5
  The first Foe in the Field;
And with a stronger Faith imbrace
  A Sword, a Horse, a Shield.

Yet this Inconstancy is such,
  As you too shall adore;   10
I could not love thee (Deare) so much,
  Lov’d I not Honour more.

It is copied from this web page (http://www.bartleby.com/105/47.html)which has a very good data base and I think there is something there for everyone.
