A short stick in the car can be very helpfull. It can go anywhere with no attention and you can use it to brace a Jack or Mr Jack. To open a jammed door or window and many other uses. By yourself hit all parts of the body with the stick. Use the middle, the ends and different angles. Feel how it affects different hights in your body and tissue. Does a hit to the side of the knee unbalance more than to the back of the knee ? Why ? Which way can you bend and so on. With a partnet hit each other as you walk and than the one without the stick has to take the stick without getting hurt and decide what to do. You can use it as a push if you don’t want a person close to you or as a push if you want someone else close to you. In a crowd a short stick can be used without getting noticed and put back in the sleeve of the coat of pants. You can roll it on your body and see how the shape of it is like a ground roll condensed. If you are able to slide a stick down to the ground without stopping or loosing cantact than you can roll well if you see them alike. 

Another thing is to balance on the stick and have people unbalance you with their sticks or something else. It is a bit of king of the hill game and as such it gives a frame that allows you to learn. If you care too much for the outcome than you become constrained and tense and that will narrow you into the things you THINK will work. if you play and hone your ability than when the time comes you will be able to perform rather than collapse from exhustion. Nothing special, just do the work with the right intention.
