First to Linus: roll belly to back sideways so you learn to create a wave while maintaining form upright. A slight sway using the side and down vectors can create a much greater effect than a rigid twist. How about leaving me an e-mail next time so I can answer directly ?
Yesterday I found a deck of cards on my car as a promo to a gambling site. Cards being light and a good tool to develop efficient movement. Try this with a partner. One throws cards at you and you catch them with the least amount of movement while keeping form and staying aware to the effect chasing has on us. If you give the card too much meaning or investment you will break form and focus on the card as you sacrifice form by leaning and unbalancing yourself. If you stay calm and take steps while maintaining form you will be more mobile for the next card and have a better field of sight. If you crumple the cards it means you are hiding behind speed and power. The way to mastery lies in honesty with yourself and others.
A primer to shooting. You will need a gun (unloaded 🙂 ) and a long string. One holds the gun threaded with the string and another is holding the string at a point in the body you are aiming for. Keep the string straight and move about as you keep your aim on the target. The target can also move of course but progress once you feel no tension forming from the initial position. Now try to aim as you reveal the least amount of gun to the target. Don’t flash the pistol in front of you or use it as a shield. Know that it can be taken from you so remain at a safe distance and this will also teach a team to work without crossing lines. This is a very basic exercise so don’t worry if a few things don’t add up. Relax and learn the lesson of the day.
