Common sense in strength training: I don’t care much for lifting iron myself unless it is sharp or I am getting paid for it. We do need to get things going inside and become more aware iand free in our movement and I think our mass and others mass serves the purpose perfectly. That aside, we do need to perform tasks that require power from time to time like lifting our body up a rope or carrying a buddy home if need be. To do that I suggest doing just that. Try climbing ropes and they will reveal to you if you have a missing link in the chain. Are your hands strong enough to hold your mass plus 20 kg ? Can you balance yourself walking with a straight back in the squat ? The list goes on and on. Doing the work as it is prevents building one thing over the other and creating tension in the body and mind. And if you want to start swinging a KB or the like try a simple 5 litle bottle with a handle first (like a detergent bottle) and see how you juggle that or a simple cheap sledgehammer. Be safe and mobile.
