To learn to relax the foot follow this drill and elaborate according to your needs: Lift your leg starting the movement from oyur core and following your breath. Relax the ankle so there is no exess tension in the foot and slowly bring the foot forward so it touches the wall or something with only your big toe. Move slowly so you can stop before any pressure is created by the movement and go back. Repeat this for all the fingers and than do the same thing for the ground. Take a few steps with your eyes closed and feel your way forward or otherwise with the feet so you first try the ground with the foot slowly and than transfer the weight to it. The mastery is in mastering yourself simple.
