To survive outside we need to keep our temperature even. For example in cold weather you should minimize your outer surface to limit your heat loss. This is done by keeping your extremities covered (head hands feet) and for example sleeping with your hands in your armpits. You also have to kep dry and watered because in the cold we feel only a little of the vapor loss so you need to keep drinking and change wet clothes off you (dry them of do without) Another thing you can do is keep a water bottle on your body and drink from it when you wake up. It is a douible bonus of staying hydrated and keeping your heat inside. Find what makes sense on your own and remember it is easier to stay out of trouble than to get out of it. Just like in holds and locks.
