As you go down the stairs check if you are on the toes of the supporting foot as you go. If you are check if your neck is tight and if you are tense in the hips which can cause this compansation in the movement. If one joint is tensed up the others will try to cover for it and it can be either good or bad depending on whether you are aware and working it or a traveler in the process.
