Sometimes in order to merge with another persons movement you need to be very close to them. For example if someone is strangling you in the under the armpit choke, breath in and relax so you are aligned and your body (chest stomack relaxed) is fully with him. Now simply tilt him backwards and without support he will leave you. Another example is when someone is moving in to a choke with his arm over your shoulder and neck you close any distance with him and add your arm over his shoulder and if you move (breath with him too) with him freedom is yours. this needs to be practiced diligantly but not as a goal. Focusing on one thing will make you blind to the rest. Have this in mind as well as other things.
