As a note, track the hand close to the face only for the drill and to become aware of tension. It is better to relax the eyes as well and to see the entire picture. This way you will see the next target before you feel it and you can decide what you want to do.
Place your open hand close to your face and look at it. Move it very closely to your face and track it with your eyes. Notice where it makes your face and your spirit tense (or reminds you to cut your nails) and repeat this drill with now moving your face (avoid opening your mouth) and see if the movement allows you to release the tension. now move the hand about and let it fall on your face in different ways. This can be very uncomfortable and you need to relax your neck and breath so you can move to let the tension move away. If there is a desire to ressist the push or strike remember that surviving overpowers your need to fight and win and relax. Move to do the same with your fist and when it comes very close or on the eyes move slower so you develop more sensitivity and respect for the strike and as a result you will move better. This drill can be done with a partner of course and with more than one it is even better as long as you remember it is a person you are working with.
