The swing and the edge

Why do we use arches ? Strength, efficiency of structure, swiftness or other attributes ?

When we consider the hammer or the mace, it is a structure which offsets the mass away from us. We use it in arches and circles in the same way as the planets revolve around the sun as it moves with the milky way.

We begin with the hold. Holding a hammer in movement and in impact allows us to develop a dynamic grip and a dynamic activation of our cores and structures.

We continue with swinging the hammer side to side, forward and back and from right to left. This develops a full body alignment and allows us to move with resistance instead of moving against the resistance. Breath and floating eye movement are key here to allow the body to move both up and down and side to side at the same time to allow us to swing the hammer as if it was a feather.

Next we raise the hammer overhead. We are taught to look down but we are composed in part of stardust. When we raise the hammer overhead, we learn to release the pressure imposed on use from outside and we learn to bring together each part of the body to dynamically stabilize all.

Last we combine all holds and moves into locomotion. Sync walking with swinging, sync turning the hammer in a circle with squatting and turning. Walk and rotate the hammer overhead and play with it and invent your own patterns. Mind your spine and your eyes and your breath and make it different each and every time you breathe.
