Many times we check what we can do in different situations. Using just the body and whatever is on it to defend yourself, Using a knife, an umbrella and so on. Consider what happens when you have people with you in a social way such as standing in line (a pickpocket’s dream), walking hand in hand or hugging. Dancing and so on. Take a few partners and practice these situations and go first very slow to pay attention to what you are doing and than fast and than slow again. This way you will be able to gain awareness, test and reevaluate what you are doing. For example is the person who is in front of you in line a good shield from a stabbing attack? Is a tall fellow better for plowing a way out of a crowd and so on. Remember that your partner or whoever is with you can act as well and there will probably be at least three versions of what happened during the attempt or success of the attack and you can learn a lot by listening to everyone’s version of the “truth” Be humble, it helps.
